A
young Asian vacationing in Europe stumbles onto the story of St.
Francis Xavier and begins a personal pilgrimage that takes him to
the places Xavier traveled during his life.
In
this docudrama, the story of the 16th-century missionary
is rediscovered through the eyes of the Asian Pilgrim. But this is
more than just the story of Xavier's life retold.
As the Pilgrim
grows more and more involved in Xavier's story, he discovers the
many parallels between Xavier's life and his own.
In following the footsteps of Xavier, he meets people of
different races and backgrounds, and finds himself confronting some
of the important issues all Christians face today.
At the end of
his journey, the Pilgrim begins to understand his role as a
Christian living in today's world and the meaning this has for his
life. It is a
pilgrimage every young Christians must make.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS
OF FRANCIS XAVIER is a 2 ?hour video series that re-enacts the
story of Xavier, while inviting viewers to reflect on what it means
to be a Christian in today's world.
The docudrama is
divided into 8 sections. Each
section centers on a relevant and challenging theme for today's
young Christians.
It
is an entire audio-visual kit which includes a video, a CD of the
soundtrack, and a companion guidebook that suggests various
activities designed to help viewers deepen the experience and
insights received while watching the program.
It's
format makes the documentary flexible for any type or viewing: It
can be watched in its entirety in one sitting, or divided into
sections which can be watched separately.
